The attorney defending the Orange County man charged in the Monsey Hanukkah attack wants to see if the man who the D-A says died as a result of the attack may have died from something else. The Journal News reports 38 year-old Grafton Thomas’ lawyer wants to exhume Josef Neumann’s body and have an autopsy performed. Neumann was 72 when he died on March 29th after spending months in the hospital recovering from the attack. Neumann was buried the next day.

Rockland/Westchester Congresswoman Blasts Federal Response to Coronavirus
Rockland and Westchester’s congresswoman says the federal government isn’t doing enough to help Americans or hospitals during the coronavirus pandemic. House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita Lowey told C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” Monday morning that she’s infuriated production and distribution of national rapid testing still isn’t happening…
Lowey said she is hopeful another round of relief passes the Senate this week.
Hundreds Remain without Power in Rockland Following Monday Storms
Thousands were without power yesterday as powerful storms came across Rockland and Westchester, bringing down tree limbs and power lines on the Congers Road Causeway in Clarkstown and Old Tappan Road in Tappan, among others. There are still pockets of customers without electricity in the county, down from the more than 25,000 customers across the O&R service area that lost power yesterday. O&R says Restoration efforts will continue into this evening. By the way, if you see a downed power line don’t go near it, just call your local police and notify O&R.
Nanuet Bank Robbery Suspect has Criminal History in Clarkstown
The man arrested by Clarkstown police Friday evening charged with a bank robbery in Nanuet has been accused of, and served jail time for, similar crimes in Rockland. Police arrested 46 year-old Jamie Bass and charged him with robbery and grand larceny, stemming from an incident Friday at the Capital One Bank on Route 59. Clarkstown supervisor George Hoehmann says Bass was released thanks to New York’s criminal justice reforms…

Cuomo and Area Governors Discuss Region-wide “Reopening Plan”

Governor Andrew Cuomo was joined in his daily event with the governors of New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Rhode Island who have been talking about coming up with a so-called “reopening plan” for the region.
