Eight men were arrested in Monsey yesterday morning after a neighbor was concerned about a large gathering in violation of state and local orders. Ramapo Police say the violation occurred at 92 North Saddle River Road, though it is unclear what the gathering was or what is at that location. The unidentified men were released on appearance tickets without bail.

Spring Valley Man Charged with Assault After Fight in Nanuet
A Spring Valley man was charged with charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon after a fight with two other people in Nanuet Wednesday night. Clarkstown Police spokesman officer Norman Peters says 30 year-old Kirwin Forrest attacked a man and a woman with a knife in front of his ex-girlfriend’s house on North Pascack Road…
Peters says none of the injuries to the suspect or victims appears to be life-threatening.
Coronavirus-related Deaths in Rockland Hits 172
The total number of cases of coronavirus across the state is now near 160,000 and the number of deaths as of Thursday afternoon has climbed to over 7,000, with 172 confirmed fatalities here in Rockland. The county executive has asked the state for a containment zone in Ramapo, where the numbers have been their highest, and a temporary hospital set up at the RCC Field House or elsewhere in the county. Area Golf Courses to Close due to Coronavirus

Ramapo’s Spook Rock golf course is closed, but in Haverstraw the Rotella course is open, but with limited services and a bunch of social distancing rules. That’s a moot point, since the state yesterday said golf courses are now on the non-essential list, and must be closed starting tomorrow until at least April 29th.
Orange County Man Dies of Unknown Medical Issue in West Nyack
An Orange County man died yesterday afternoon after an incident on Route 59 in West Nyack by the West Nyack Fire Department substation near Palisades Center. Clarkstown Police say 57 year-old Richard Croll was unconscious in a dump truck that had live, downed power lines laying across it. The power was cut so police and EMS could attend to him.
