Three men face various charges after being arrested Wednesday at a Spring Valley home. Village police say they and Ramapo police searched the home at 78 Twin Avenue in the village, and found evidence from commercial burglaries, a pound of marijuana and 6.5 grams of cocaine. 34 year-old Quinten Jackson, 36 year-old Michael Brookins Jr., and 27 year-old Tyreek Jackson face several charges each.

Orangetown to Hold Meeting on Criminal Justice Reforms
Area lawmakers met with Rockland’s sheriff, local chiefs of police and elected officials recently to discuss how to go about reversing some of the more radical changes due to take effect come January with the criminal justice reform package passed in the state budget last April. Rockland Sheriff Lou Falco told “The Morning Show” he was pleased Rockland and Westchester state senator David Carlucci, a backer of the bill, has met with him and the group, and is eager to listen to their issues. The town of Orangetown isn’t waiting for the new laws to take effect. The Orangetown Police Commission is holding a meeting next week to educate residents about the changes. They cite the “significant financial burden” and “serious consequences” area municipalities, police departments and crime victims will have to face. The meeting is being held Tuesday night at 7pm at Orangetown Town Hall.
Rockland County Veterans Coordinating Council to Honor “Veteran of the Year” at New City Ceremony Sunday
The Rockland County Veterans Coordinating Council will present the Veteran of the Year Award at a ceremony in New City on Sunday. Suffern’s Roy Tschudy is with the Vietnam Veterans of America #333. Jeremy Honey is the secretary of the Veterans Coordinating Council, and says Tschudy helped provide Handcycles to other veterans who have lost lower limbs and can’t move around very easily…

Finals Goodbyes for Former Haverstraw Mayor, Thomas Watson
Funeral services were held yesterday for Thomas Watson Sr., the former mayor of the village of Haverstraw, who died last week. Watson served from 1989 to ’95. Town of Haverstraw supervisor Howard Phillips says he will be missed…
Watson volunteered at the Calvary Baptist Church and served on many local boards, including the Rockland County Human Rights Commission, the Haverstraw Brick Museum, and the NAACP. He was 82.
Report: Police Visit Spring Valley Home
A Twin Avenue home in Spring Valley was reportedly visited by dozens of police officers yesterday, but it’s not clear were they were from or why they were there. News 12 says police investigators went in and out of the home, but didn’t say what they were looking for. We’ll have more details as soon as they become available.
