Two Rockland Catholic schools reportedly plan to combine come September, though neither school will close. LoHud.com says St. Paul’s in Valley Cottage will focus on the youngest kids while St. Anthony’s in Nanuet will handle grades 3-8, and they’ll be known collectively as the St. Anthony-St. Paul School. Clarkstown Town Board member for Ward 2, Michael Graziano, a St. Paul’s grad and parishioner, has scheduled a Town Hall-style meeting for 7 tonight at Valley Cottage Library to review the plan.

Three Arrested in Connection with Spring Valley Train Station Shooting
Three people have been arrested, two of them juveniles, in the train station shooting in Spring Valley from last week. Shots rang out Thursday afternoon, police found an unidentified 30 year-old man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was treated at the scene then taken to Westchester Medical Center for emergency surgery. Later that night, police arrested 23 year-old Tarique Wilson of Spring Valley and a 17 year-old male from Haverstraw. Both were charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Wilson was to be arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court, the 17 year-old was slated for arraignment in Rockland County Youth Superior Court. Another 17 year-old, a female from Spring Valley, was also arrested in connection with the incident. She was charged with Attempted Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon and was also to be arraigned in Rockland County Youth Superior Court. Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Chestnut Ridge Road Near NY-NJ Border in Montvale
An unidentified, 55-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed Friday night near the NY border in Montvale. The Montvale resident reportedly had been struck by a 63-year-old Garfield man around 8:30 while walking on the southbound side of Chestnut Ridge Road. She suffered a major head wound. Montvale police and Tri-Boro EMTs treated her at the scene. She was later pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center.
An unidentified man was arrested and released in accordance with NYS Bail Reform laws following a fiery crash on Route 45 in Pomona early Friday morning. Ramapo Police say the car had struck a utility pole and the driver had gotten out before they arrived. They say they noted signs of intoxication and arrested the driver, who was taken to Nyack Hospital by Spring Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps for non-life threatening injuries. The road was temporarily closed as O&R repaired the damaged pole.
Ramapo Police arrested an unidentified woman after a slow-speed chase across some lawns in Hillcrest early Friday morning. Police say the chase ended near Rockland Lane and Alexander Avenue. An officer tried to get her to stop but she wouldn’t comply. She was taken into custody.
Private Funeral Planned for Former MLK Center Executive Director
A private funeral for local civil rights leader Dr. Stella Marrs will be held in South Carolina. She had retired there a few years ago and died last week of natural causes…
And that was the head of the RBA Al Samuels, Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, reflecting on Dr. Marrs. The Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center will be hosting a “Bright Moments” Celebration of Life to honor Dr. Marrs. Donations in her memory can be made to the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center in Spring Valley, which she led for two decades. She was 92.
