Tappan Zee High School is hosting the third annual “Two Counties, One Cause” basketball tournament starting tonight and tomorrow, a fundraiser to support the Children’s Tumor Foundation. 10 teams — five from Rockland and five from Westchester – face off on Saturday starting at noon. For the first time two girls’ teams will play each other, the Tappan Zee girls varsity team will face Sleepy Hollow on Friday night. Money raised will fund research into neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. For more information and game schedules, click here.

Comedians to Take on Pancreatic Cancer in Ramsey this Saturday

The event is at the Ramsey Theater on East Main Street tomorrow night at 9. Rockland, Las Vegas Police Agencies Nail Grandview Man with Weapons Charges
An Orangetown man was arrested but is now out on bail after various illegal weapons were found in his home. Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco says a joint operation between his office, the Orangetown Police, NYPD, the Las Vegas Metro PD, and the Southern Nevada Counter-Terrorism Center led them to 66 year-old Paul Elmowsky Jr, of Grandview. Falco says Elmowsky drew police scrutiny after leaving several legally-registered weapons in different Las Vegas hotels…
It was back here in Rockland that police then reportedly discovered a stash of illegal weapons allegedly belonging to Elmowsky. Falco says he has no known connection to terrorism, though the investigation is ongoing. Vegas police were understandably on edge with the find…you’ll recall 58 people were killed in October 2017 when a gunman opened fire on a crowd at a music festival on the Las Vegas Strip.
