Police are looking for a suspect after a man walked into Nyack Hospital late Tuesday night with a gunshot wound to his forearm. That’s according to DailyVoice.com. The incident reportedly took place on Depew Avenue in Nyack, where two shell casings were recovered by Orangetown Police. The victim was reported in stable condition. Rockland Legislators Vote to Cancel Residential Energy Sales Tax
Rockland County Legislators voted 14-0 last night to eliminate the residential energy sales tax. The measure next goes to the County Executive, who has indicated he would sign the bill. The move comes O&R has warned of rising energy costs this winter. The move is expected to save taxpayers about $4 million in just the winter months alone, and about $10 million or more annually.
21 Year-old Stony Point Man Arrested and Charged in Connection with Fatal Tompkins Cove Shooting
More information now on a story we first brought you yesterday. Stony Point police say they’ve arrested a 21 year-old town resident in connection with a fatal shooting over the weekend. Police say Javier Medina Jr, who lives in the home where the shooting took place in Tompkins Cove, was charged with second degree murder. He was arraigned and sent to the Rockland County Jail without bail. Police say it started late Saturday night when they got a call from a woman who said a man had been shot and needed medical attention. Police went to the Mott Farm Road home where they found 47 year-old Jason Colwell of Garnerville had already died from his wounds. Police say the suspect remained on-scene, but when taken to police headquarters requested a lawyer and didn’t say anything to them. A weapon was found at the scene, along with three women who cooperated with police. The investigation into the incident continues.
Report: Man Shot and Killed in Stony Point
A man was reportedly shot and killed in the Tompkins Cove area of Stony Point Sunday. News 12 reported detectives were at the scene on Mott Farm Road, but police did not release any other details.
