The Rockland County Office for the Aging will be distributing masks and fresh produce this morning thanks, in part, to People to People. Rockland County seniors can drive by Building B at 50 Sanatorium Road to pick up a mask and fresh produce, it’s today from 10:30 to noon, while supplies last.
Boulders Lose in Walk-Off Fashion, Dropped by ValleyCats, 5-4
In Frontier League baseball…the New York Boulders and Tri-City ValleyCats rumbled in game two of their three-game series yesterday at Joe Bruno stadium in Troy. The Boulders had a four-run lead early but coughed that up in the 7th. With the scored tied at four in the ninth, the ValleyCats brought Luis Roman to the plate with a runner in scoring position…

Director of Spring Valley Adult Home at Center of Fatal Fire Turns Herself In, Pleads Not Guilty
The director of the adult home at the center of the fatal fire in March that killed a Spring Valley volunteer firefighter and a resident has turned herself in to Rockland County District Attorney’s Office investigators. The Journal News reports 61 year-old Denise Kerr of Brooklyn faces a single charge of second-degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor. She pleaded not guilty and was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court October 12th. 35 year-old Jared Lloyd and a 79 year-old resident of the Evergreen Court Home for Adults were killed during the March 23rd blaze. Five others have been charged in the incident, and the investigation remains active.
Area Lawmakers Question Flights with Illegal Immigrants Into Westchester
Planes filled with illegal immigrants arriving at the Westchester County airport has some concerned for residents’ health and safety, and others questioning what the fuss is about. North Rockland and Orange County Assemblyman Colin Schmitt says no one locally was notified, and calls them a threat to the health and safety of area residents…
Rockland State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick says the situation isn’t as dire as it’s being made out to be, as the plane’s passengers were children separated from their parents after crossing the southern border…
The immigrants were reportedly taken by bus from the airport and given a COVID vaccination shot if they were eligible. It is not known how many flights have arrived or how many people were on board.
