This past Earth Day led to a shocking turn of events when a community clean up team found a deceased body in Monroe by Forest and Schunnemunk Roads. According to News 12, the authorities noted the deceased man as being homeless and having a history of alcohol abuse. The authorities are currently trying to notify his family.
In lighter news, this past Sunday the Rotary Club of Clarkstown took advantage of the sunny weather to host a street fair in Congers. We spoke with Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann on Monday and he had this to say about the event. The outdoor events will continue into the summer with summer concerts and New City and Nanuet street fairs.
Nanuet & Beyond, a local community charity, will be hosting a Trivia Night fundraiser for their upcoming scholarship fund on May 10th. Nanuet & Beyond is a small local charity established in 2017 to enhance educational experiences and since its debut has provided over $11,000 in scholarships and donations.
