“Walk the Carpet” Kicks Off Celebration of 19th Amendment’s 100th Anniversary

January 23, 2020 by helpdesk1

2020 marks 100 years since women got the right to vote in the United States. The 19th amendment was needed for that, and it was ratified on August 18th, 1920. “SuffrageForward–100 Years and Onward” is a year-long local effort to celebrate that landmark centennial. SuffrageForward’s kickoff event on Saturday, “Walk the Carpet,” honors female stage and screen icons. Event Chair Paulette Ross says the movement is designed to celebrate women’s empowerment…

“Walk the Carpet” is 6:30 Saturday night at “Up Lounge” on Main Street in Nyack. For more information and to purchase tickets visit SuffrageForward.org.
