Two Private Schools in Ramapo Cited for Being Open During Coronavirus Shutdown

Two private schools in the town of Ramapo were cited for being open when they were supposed to be closed during the coronavirus pandemic. Central UTA in Airmont and Kahal Shaarei Tefillah in Monsey were served violations on Wednesday by the Rockland County Department of Health. Rockland County legislator Aron Weider posted a video on Twitter and claimed Central UTA wasn’t open, but people have been coming there to distribute meals to children…

Rockland County Executive Ed Day says the Health Department was given photo and video evidence and determined both schools were operating illegally…

As of Wednesday, 85 complaints had been called into the Rockland County Department of Health. If you want to report something, call 845-364-2585. As of Thursday afternoon there have been 1,340 reported positive cases of coronavirus in Rockland.
