Two Companies Cited for Violations in Ramapo

Two Ramapo companies are looking at multiple fire and safety code violations, one’s already been shut down by the Rockland Health Department. County Executive Ed Day says an indoor water park at the former Lifeplex complex on College Avenue violated the county’s sanitary codes…

The other business is Motty’s supermarket. Their Route 306 location burned down in February and they started doing business on College Avenue sometime thereafter. Ramapo supervisor Michael Specht says despite issuing multiple violations, there’s not much the town can do about the new Motty’s…

On Friday’s “Who Wants to be a Volunteer” program, co-host Justin Schwartz said Motty’s poses a danger, the town isn’t dealing harshly enough with it, and the state should come in and take over…

Motty’s is reportedly due to respond to the violations in court later this month.
