Opponents of the recently enacted bail reform laws in New York continue to hammer away at supporters for failing to even bring it up for discussion as the legislative session opened earlier this month. And that was Rockland and Westchester state senator David Carlucci, a backer of the original reform bill. One of the latest cases that has opponents of the new bail reform rules angered involves a man in Harriman who was caught on a surveillance video punching a woman identified as his girlfriend, and hiding a knife up his sleeve but then tossing it on a roof. He was arrested and charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and attempted assault and harassment, but was released on an appearance ticket.
