Good Friday is March 29th and Easter is on Sunday, March 31st, the day before the budget is due, but Passover doesn’t start until April 22nd. Budget negotiations have been known to go longer than that. The 2022 New York state budget went eight days past the deadline. In 2004, budget passage didn’t happen until 133 days after the deadline.
