SWAT Team Arrives to Contain COVID-19 Cluster in Oneonta; Death Count Remains Steady for Nearly Five Weeks in Rockland

August 31, 2020 by helpdesk1

A SWAT team descended yesterday upon SUNY Oneonta to contain a COVID-19 cluster that’s developed there, with more than 100 people testing positive for coronavirus. In-person classes at the campus have been suspended for two weeks. Five students and three campus organizations were kicked out for holding parties against college policy.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got two in the hospital being examined, another four have been confirmed with coronavirus. The state says we’ve got 14,197 reported cases, 14 more than Friday, and the Rockland Health Department confirms 674 fatalities here in the county, no change since Tuesday almost five weeks ago.
