The Lafayette Theater in Suffern is cutting back on movie showings after failing to get a grant. The Regional Economic Development Council Initiative grant would have allowed them to make some much-needed upgrades. Ramapo Communications Director Phil Tisi says the theater will no longer have showings on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays…
In an email last week, theater owner Ari Benmosché said he was hoping to convert the main auditorium into a venue for live performances and add a second screening room and event space, among other improvements. Tisi says they’ve reduced the price for movies to six dollars, the lowest price for first-run movies in the county.
