Suffern Resident Honored by Brain Injury Association of New York State

The Brain Injury Association of New York State honored a Suffern man as their “Champion of Hope” award winner at the “Journey of Hope” Gala last month in Manhattan. Barry Dain runs a Brain Injury Support Group for survivors and family members through Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw, and he’s been an advocate for more than 25 years…

Dain opened the first individualized residential alternative for persons with traumatic brain injuries in New York State, launched one of the first structured day programs for persons with TBIs in New York State, and also opened the first transitional living program.
