Suffern Police Seek Drive in Hit-and-Run in Village on Saturday

December 7, 2021 by Jeff Lewis

The Suffern Police Department needs your help locating a hit-and-run driver stemming from an accident Saturday night on Orange Avenue just south of Lafayette Avenue, also known as Routes 202 and 59. Police say the incident occurred around 8:15 Saturday night, when a 71-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were trying to cross Orange Avenue. Police say they were struck by a vehicle, possibly a silver, 2021 or ‘22 KIA Sportage with NY license plates. The vehicle likely has front passenger side damage, as well as a missing passenger side rear view mirror. The driver has been described as a white male with a gray or graying beard. The woman suffered a head injury and possible spinal injuries, while the man sustained minor injuries. If anyone has any information or video of the incident, please contact the Suffern Police Department at 845-357-2300.
