Suffern Hockey Team Wins Championship, Former North Rockland Track Star Finishes Second in NCAA Championships

March 15, 2022 by Jeff Lewis

The Suffern High School hockey team won the state championship over the weekend in Buffalo. They scored five straight goals to beat Section III’s West Genesee 5-2 in the Division I final…

And that was Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht. The Town of Ramapo and the Village of Suffern are honoring the team’s Championship with a parade tomorrow at 5pm along Lafayette Avenue and ending at the gazebo for a meet-and-greet with the team.

In other local sports news, LOHUD.com says former North Rockland track standout Katelyn Touhey took second-place for North Carolina State in the women’s 5,000-meter at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships Friday in Birmingham, Alabama.
