Stony Point to Hold Public Hearing Tonight On Waterfront Development Strategies

August 9, 2022 by Jeff Lewis

The town of Stony Point is holding a public hearing tonight on the proposed “River and Rail Brownfield” Redevelopment Floating Zone. The board is expected to vote on a resolution that would give Supervisor Jim Monaghan the ability to create Memoranda of Understanding involving projects on the waterfront. Monaghan says the move could spur more development in the area…

George Potanovic is the founder and president of the Stony Point Action Committee for the Environment, and says it’s good to reuse the old properties, but he’s concerned the public too often is being left out of the process…

Tina Traster is the editor and publisher of RCBizJournal.com, and says the move makes sense…

The meeting gets underway at 7pm tonight at the Roh building on Club House Lane in Stony Point.
