Stony Point Seals to Host Parade as Alternative to Plunge for Their Annual Sunday Event, Nyack to Host Penguin Plunge in March

February 5, 2021 by helpdesk1

The Stony Point Seals’ 2021 Plunge, which would have been held this Sunday, has been cancelled due to the pandemic. They have, however, planned an alternative. Stony Point supervisor Jim Monaghan says instead they’ll be holding a “Polar Parade” for four year-old town resident Oscar Beckman…

Haverstraw supervisor Howard Phillips says this 22nd annual event is one that unites all of North Rockland…

The “Polar Parade” will feature fire engines, police cars, EMS vehicles, the NAM Knights, and anyone else who wants to join in the parade is welcome. They’ll start at the Haverstraw Marina at 1pm, and go past Oscar’s house. Visit StonyPointSeals.com to learn more about him and the group.

The Nyack Penguin Plunge fundraiser, however, looks like it’s on track to be held this March. Organizer Barbara Noyes says the 14th annual event scheduled for March 7th will be done in a COVID-safe way…
