Spring Valley Hook & Ladder Company Number One needs a new roof, and they thought they had grant money coming so they could make the repairs. Turns out, it appears that the state has been dragging its feet. A state agency approved the fire company’s application for a $150,000 CREST grant earlier this year, but told The Journal News that more paperwork is needed before final approvals can be made.
