Residents of an Orangetown hamlet are looking to alleviate truck traffic in their neighborhood. Supervisor Teresa Kenny says meetings will be held by the town this summer to discuss the Route 340 bypass from Route 9W in Sparkill that trucks use to access Piermont and other areas…
The town’s Traffic Advisory Board is reviewing the situation and is expected to make a presentation to and seek input from area residents about the situation. Kenny believes a Route 9W overpass project years ago was the reason truck traffic was re-routed down into Sparkill and it was never restored back up to 9W.
