Sparkill Man Held in Texas on Bergen County Bias Charges

August 3, 2020 by helpdesk1

An Orangetown man is being held in a Texas jail after he was linked by police to an incident in Northvale, New Jersey last month. DailyVoice.com says 21 year-old Carson Goodman of Sparkill, who is white, reportedly made racist comments to three black women at a Bergen County liquor store, then smashed their car with a baseball bat. Two of the women were injured and he reportedly fled the scene. He reportedly drove to relative’s home in Texas, where he struck a 400-pound wild boar on a local highway. Officers there discovered he was on the run from Bergen County. He is being held in the Pecos County Jail in Fort Stockton. He faces several counts of bias intimidation, aggravated assault and weapons possession in Bergen.
