The North Rockland School District could benefit from an area state senator’s bill if it’s eventually passed. LoHud.com reports North Rockland state senator James Skoufis has introduced a bill that would add a one dollar surcharge to parking and other purchases at Bear Mountain state park, including the zoo, ice skating and brunch. The bill has reportedly passed through the Senate’s Education Committee and is in the Finance Committee. The surcharge could add another 1.5 million to the North Rockland School District.
