A school food vendor has apologized for serving chicken, waffles and watermelon to students at Nyack Middle School on the first day of Black History Month. That’s according to The Daily News. In a letter to parents, school principal David Johnson said, “The offering was inexcusably insensitive and reflected a lack of understanding.” The food vendor, Aramark, apologized, noting that “the menu was not intended as a cultural meal” and acknowledged that the timing was inappropriate.
