Rockland’s County Exec Blasts NY PSC for Delays in Fire Hydrants Report

November 21, 2022 by Jeff Lewis

Rockland’s County Executive has asked the Public Service Commission to step up its investigation into allegedly low water pressure in the fire hydrants near the fatal Evergreen Adult Home blaze that killed a volunteer Spring Valley firefighter and a resident of the facility. Firefighters had to go about two-thirds of a mile away from the scene to find hydrants that had sufficient water pressure. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says he’s concerned the PSC is dragging their feet on their investigation…

The Evergreen fire struck March 23rd, 2021, killing two and displacing more than a hundred residents.
