Rockland’s CE Slams MTA Failure to Bring One-Seat Ride to County

Friday’s announcement by the governor that the Bronx would be getting four new commuter rail stations to give them better access to Manhattan, Westchester and Connecticut, isn’t making Rockland’s County Executive very happy, as Rockland gets ignored yet again by the MTA. At a press conference announcing the new Bronx stations on Friday, Governor Kathy Hochul gushed over how transformative it would be for all those areas east of the Hudson…

Forgetting, of course, there’s lots of city commuters west-of-Hudson as well. But she wasn’t alone. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer also left Rockland off the list of important New York-Metro Area communities…

But County Executive Ed Day says it’s appalling that Rockland commuters are consistently mistreated by the politicians and MTA…

The Bergen Loop portion of the Gateway Tunnel Project would give Rockland County a one-seat-ride into New York Penn Station.
