Today’s the big day, it’s Election Day, with most government offices and schools closed for the day, as registered voters who didn’t vote early will be flooding the polls to determine who will represent them going forward. There are lots of offices up for grabs following redistricting this past year, including those in the U.S. Senate and the House, New York Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller, state Senate and Assembly, and many local offices as well. Clarkstown supervisor George Hoehmann says early voting turnout was pretty good at town hall…
There are also races for The Justices of the Supreme Court, Justices in the Town Of Ramapo and Village of Suffern, Stony Point Town Council and Superintendent of Highways, and trustees in the villages of Haverstraw, Nyack, Piermont, Sloatsburg, and Suffern. There’s also the state Environmental Bond Act on the ballot today, calling for New York voters to approve a $4.2 billion measure to fund environmental restoration projects throughout the state. Stony Point voters will also have the chance to vote on a development project targeting a portion of the former Letchworth Village site.
