Rockland State Senator Urges Residents Get COVID Vaccinated, State Cancels January Regents

December 22, 2021 by Jeff Lewis

Broadway shows are going dark, sports leagues are cancelling games, some schools in the Hudson Valley are going remote once again as COVID returns. Officials attribute the spike to increased indoor activities, but hospitalization numbers are lower compared to last December thanks to the vaccines and other safety measures taken in the last year. Still, Rockland state senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick says he’s concerned about the uptick…

The New York State Education Department has cancelled January’s High School Regents Exams thanks to the ongoing COVID–19 pandemic. State Education Commissioner Betty Rosa said the cancellation applies to all Regents Exams that had been scheduled for next month. No decision’s been made yet regarding the June and August 2022 Regents.
