Rockland school districts will be voting tomorrow on school budgets and school board elections. Check with your local district for polling places and times. Earlier this month, fiscal and education monitors said the East Ramapo school district could face a $44.3 million deficit by 2028 if voters continue to reject budget plans. Students could find themselves without varsity or other sports, electives, honors or AP courses, and no classes beyond the basics needed for a high school diploma. The Journal News says school buildings in the district would be cleaned less frequently and they’d see cuts to security.
