June 24, 2019 by helpdesk1

There are twenty races for various ballot lines in the November general election that first have to get through Rockland County primaries tomorrow. The battle for the Democratic nod for District Attorney has four candidates, including prosecutor Patricia Gunning, retired judge Victor Alfieri, retired judge Thomas Walsh, and assemblyman Ken Zebrowski. Walsh already has the Republican and Conservative lines, Mike Diederich is running as an Independent. There are contested races for the Rockland County legislature in District 1, 5, 8, 11, 13, and 14. On the hyper-local level, Clarkstown town board Wards 2, 3 and 4 have contested races, as does the Town Justice. In Nyack, three candidates are vying for two seats. In Orangetown, third-party lines are up for grabs for supervisor and town board positions while in Stony Point there are two seats on the board available to the “Working Families” line. In Spring Valley, nine candidates are battling for two, four-year seats on the Board of Trustees.
