Rockland Meets 5 of 7 Criteria Required to Re-open Non-essential Businesses

Rockland County has met five of the seven criteria necessary to start reopening non-essential businesses. The county executive’s office reported yesterday Rockland has seen a consistent hospitalization decline, a 30 percent count of available ICU beds, and three other categories. Rockland is part of the region that includes Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties.

COVID-19 by the numbers, the state now has confirmed more than 338,000 total cases of coronavirus across the state and 21,800 deaths. In Rockland, the state says we’ve got over 12,500 reported cases, and the Rockland Health Department confirms 580 fatalities here in the county.
