Rockland Measles Cases Climb to 184; Westchester has 8 and 17 in Orange

April 15, 2019 by helpdesk1

There are now 184 confirmed cases of measles in Rockland County and the number continues to climb. County Executive Ed Day told “The Morning Show” Friday he was glad there haven’t been any deaths due to the measles in the county, but there have been close calls…

A judge struck down the state of emergency the county declared late last month, and Day has fears that with the holidays coming, things could get worse…

Another judge Friday upheld the order that shot down the state of emergency, but the Journal News says a four-judge panel will consider the matter later this month. There are also now eight cases in Westchester and Orange County has 17, but the outbreak hasn’t been limited to our area. They’ve been reported in 19 states including Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts and Texas. Overseas, NBC News reported more than 1,200 people have died in Madagascar where there have been more than 115,000 cases.
