Today is the 19th anniversary of the terror attacks on New York City and Washington DC. The county is hosting its commemoration in Haverstraw Bay County Park this morning at 8:30. Family members will read the names of the Rockland County victims. Because of COVID restrictions, it’s open only to family, survivors, first responders and friends. Elsewhere in the county, the Village of West Haverstraw is holding a candlelight ceremony tonight at Pecks Pond, behind the baseball field by the pavilion at 7:15. The village of Suffern’s ceremony is at Suffern Village Hall tonight at 7 pm. The village of Sloatsburg will hold its annual remembrance service at 11 this morning at the Sloatsburg Municipal Building.
