Rockland Loses Two More to COVID, Governor Does About-Face on Thanksgiving Plans

November 25, 2020 by helpdesk1

New York’s Emmy award-winning governor lectured New Yorkers to keep family gatherings small to protect loved ones. He detailed how his daughters were distraught over missing Thanksgiving this year. Then governor Andrew Cuomo said his plan was to bring his 89 year-old mother from Manhattan and two of his daughters to Albany for the holidays. That was met with swift cries of hypocrisy. Less than 24 hours after, the governor’s office announced plans have changed and he’d be working through the holiday. Rockland Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski says he understands everyone is getting tired of the new reality, but it is important we keep our loved ones, and everyone else around us, safe…

In his press conference yesterday, Cuomo said it wasn’t easy explaining to his mother why they had to forgo a traditional holiday celebration this year…

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve lost two more to coronavirus, the death toll now at 695. We’ve got two in the hospital being examined, another 65 have been confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 1,399 active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 20,824 reported cases, 116 more than Thursday.
