Rockland Lake, Nyack Beach State Parks Temporarily Closed due to Coronavirus Concerns

April 16, 2020 by helpdesk1

Rockland Lake State Park in Valley Cottage was closed temporarily yesterday after several local officials called for the governor to shut it down. As other parks in the area were closing, more people were showing up there, as one of the last remaining parks that was accessible. Clarkstown supervisor George Hoehmann says even without the other parks being closed, Rockland Lake has always attracted people from far and wide…

Orangetown supervisor Teresa Kenny says, for now, the rail-trail that criss-crosses parts of her town remains open…

Nyack Beach State Park was also shut down, and a decision on Tallman Mountain State Park in Sparkill is still being reviewed.
