Rockland Getting New Supermarkets

Several new supermarkets are slated to open soon in Rockland. Ramapo supervisor Michael Specht says Brooklyn-based kosher chain Aron’s is planning to open at the former Shop Rite location on Route 59 in Talman…

Aron’s is targeting a summer 2022 opening. Over in Pomona, Evergreen could be opening as soon as next week at the former Stop and Shop location on Route 202. Meanwhile, Europe-based supermarket Lidl is another step closer to breaking ground in Orangetown. Supervisor Teresa Kenny says the company recently got a permit to knock down the building that’s currently there to make way for a new market and upgrades for the Tappan Plaza shopping center on Route 303…

The Germany-based discount grocer is opening stores across the country, with locations already open in New Jersey, on Long Island and Staten Island.
