Rockland and the mid-Hudson region entered phase two of the COVID-19 reopening yesterday, but it’s not time to let our guard or our masks down just yet. In his coronavirus press conference yesterday New York governor Andrew Cuomo said the numbers are going in the right direction now, but if we get careless they could head in the other direction…
Cuomo acknowledged added Metro-North commuters, large protests and 600,000 people returning to work in the metro region could cause the numbers to go up, if social distancing guidelines are not adhered to. COVID-19 by the numbers now, the state has confirmed around 379,000 total cases and more than 24,300 deaths. In Rockland, the state says we’ve got over 13,350 reported cases, and the Rockland Health Department confirms 660 fatalities here in the county.
