Rockland’s District Attorney is warning residents not to fall for scammers looking to take advantage during the coronavirus outbreak, and he’s also warning businesses not to price gouge. D-A Tom Walsh says if you’re caught inflating prices, you’ll be prosecuted…
Walsh says steer clear of fake websites selling unproven treatments or disinfecting products; be aware of calls, text messages, emails or social media posts offering bogus products; and don’t fall for phony efforts that claim to collect donations for victims. If you know of a business that’s price-gouging, contact the Consumer Protection Department at 845-364-3901.
