Rockland COVID Death Count Adds First Fatality in Six Weeks; Indoor Dining OK’d for NYC

New York City restaurants will be allowed to resume indoor dining starting September 30th. Governor Andrew Cuomo says they’ll have a 25 percent occupancy limit and strict health and safety protocols…

The 47th annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade is the latest event to be cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. The New York Post says the group that runs the event is planning another smaller, COVID-safe event instead, but hasn’t released details just yet.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association says high-risk fall sports including football, volleyball and competitive cheer will be postponed until March 1st next year. Low and moderate risk fall sports are still authorized to begin practice on September 21st.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve added the first death here in the county since July 27th. The total, according to the Rockland Health Department, is now 675. We’ve got four in the hospital being examined, another five have been confirmed with coronavirus. The state says we’ve got 14,459 reported cases, 20 more than yesterday.
