Rockland County’s Health Department Hosting Second Polio Vaccine Clinic Today in Pomona

July 25, 2022 by Jeff Lewis

Rockland County’s Health Department is hosting another free Polio vaccine clinic today in Pomona following last week’s finding of a case here in the county. Conflicting details have swirled in the media though the victim, believed to be a young adult male from the Hasidic community in Ramapo, has not been publicly identified. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says the county has been in communication with the family…

The patient became weak and paralyzed, but the county has not released any other details about the person. 18 people got immunized at Friday’s vaccination clinic held at the Pomona Health Complex. Another clinic is being held today from 1:00 to 4:00pm at 50 Sanatorium Road, Building A. Rockland County residents can pre-register for a free appointment at RocklandGov.com or call 845-238-1956. Walk-ins will also be accepted. This was the first case of Polio in the U.S. in nearly a decade.
