A Rockland County corrections officer pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a 23-count indictment accusing him of bringing alcohol into the jail and having inappropriate relationships with female minority inmates. Rockland’s D-A says 39 year-old Christopher Taggart of New City faces two counts of promoting prison contraband and twenty-one counts of official misconduct. And yesterday 35 year-old John Kezek of Stony Point pleaded not guilty to five counts of official misconduct for allegedly acting inappropriately with female inmates. Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco says he began the investigation back in January…
Falco says both Taggart and Kezek were released without bail, since under the new criminal justice reform laws the offenses are not bailable crimes. They were both suspended three months ago as the investigation was ongoing.
