Rockland Congresswoman Honored for 32-year Career

December 8, 2020 by helpdesk1

A portrait of Rockland and Westchester’s congressional representative is now on display in the House Appropriations Committee room. A virtual presentation premiered last night honoring retiring representative for New York’s 17th Congressional District and outgoing chair of the House Appropriations Committee, Nita Lowey. In a video posted to YouTube, Lowey said she’s grateful to everyone who has supported her throughout her career…

House speaker Nancy Pelosi said Lowey’s career will inspire the next generation of women to follow in her footsteps…

Lowey announced last fall she would not run for re-election. She will have spent 32 years in Congress.
