Rockland Added to FEMA’s Major Disaster Declaration in New York Following Hurricane Ida

September 24, 2021 by Jeff Lewis

If you’re a Rockland resident and experienced damage during Hurricane Ida, you can now file for FEMA Disaster Assistance. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says Rockland’s been added to FEMA’s Major Disaster Declaration in New York…

Rockland assemblyman Ken Zebrowski says to prepare for FEMA assistance, you should take photos of your damaged home and belongings, make a list of damaged or lost items and collect any original receipts if you have for them, and if applicable, file a claim with your insurance company. Then go to DisasterAssistance.gov or call FEMA’s toll-free helpline at 1-800-621-3362. Rockland Congressman Mondaire Jones says if you need help getting disaster relief, contact his office at 914-323-5550.
