Report: Suffern Residents Seek Greater Programs for Kids with Dyslexia

October 19, 2022 by Jeff Lewis

A group of concerned parents in the Suffern School District will be meeting with the superintendent tomorrow to discuss providing more support for children with dyslexia. That’s according to News 12. They say over 400 residents in the school district signed an online petition asking officials to put together a plan to begin early screening, develop literacy programs and hire certified staff to help kids who have dyslexia. October is Dyslexia Awareness Month; the disorder, which makes reading more difficult for people, affects about twenty percent of the population.
