Report: Paroled Killer was Found Drunk, Back Behind Bars

July 29, 2019 by helpdesk1

He was drunk. That’s the reason, according to The Buffalo News, that Richard LaBarbera, one of the men convicted of killing Pearl River teen Paula Bohovesky in 1980, and just weeks after he was released from prison on parole, is back behind bars. LaBarbera allegedly violated his parole and was being held at the Erie County Jail pending administrative hearings. He had been sent to live in Buffalo after the outcry from area residents who didn’t want him to be allowed to return to Rockland. On Friday, Rockland County Executive Ed Day told “The Morning Show” that behind bars is where he belongs…

Day wants the governor to review recent Parole Board decisions. LaBarbera was released from Sing Sing Prison on July 8th. Bohovesky was murdered in October 1980 as she walked home from the Pearl River library.
