Rockland voters will get to choose a new County Clerk in the November elections. Paul Piperato died earlier this month. The November 3rd election will determine who fills the job he won for a fourth time in 2017. To get on the ballot candidates must file with the Board of Elections within 30 days of the June 23rd primary. First deputy Donna Gorman Silberman, the daughter of the previous county clerk Ed Gorman, is currently serving as acting clerk, and told the Journal News she plans to run for the position. The governor could appoint someone to the position until the end of the year.
