Ramapo Supervisor: We May Need to Ask State to Re-open RCC Vaccination Center, FDA Gives Full Approval to Pfizer Vaccine

As various institutions start implementing new rules regarding COVID vaccinations and masking, and the Delta variant continues to surge across the country, some local officials are considering whether the state may need to once again use RCC as a vaccination center. If you’re a New York City public school employee and you haven’t gotten the shot yet, you’re going to have to. Mayor Bill de Blasio said yesterday nearly 150,000 school employees and contractors will have to get at least a first dose by September 27th. Weekly testing will not be an option.

The FDA has formally granted full approval to Pearl River-based Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. The decision replaces the emergency use authorization they were given in December. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is the first to get a full review and approval by the regulatory agency.
