Several roads in the town of Ramapo will be closed this afternoon to accommodate the funeral procession for the NYPD officer from the Hudson Valley killed by friendly fire Sunday. Ramapo Police and other area law enforcement agencies will be conducting traffic control for 33 year-old Brian Mulkeen’s funeral procession. Starting around 1:45, the following roads will be closed:
- Airmont Road between the NYS Thruway and Route 59
- Route 59 between Airmont Road and New County Road
- New County Road between Route 59 and Saddle River Road
- Saddle River Rd. between Hillside Ave. and S. Monsey Road
The roads will reopen as the procession passes through. Mulkeen grew up in Monroe and began his police career in Tuxedo. Mulkeen stopped 27 year-old Antonio Lavance Williams, formerly of Haverstraw, who reportedly fled questioning as officers investigated potential gang activity. Williams was also killed.
