The town of Ramapo’s tentative budget has been released. The proposed budget comes in at $123 million, about 2.5% lower than last year, the supervisor says it’s under the state tax cap, and reduces overall taxes without compromising services or community resources. Supervisor Michael Specht says some new positions will have to be created to help keep up with new laws regarding the criminal justice system…
Specht says the first budget workshop is being held this Friday morning and a public hearing is slated for November. Specht says the remaining audits of previous years budgets have been completed and the results will be reviewed by the town board in the near future.
